Download and install CombatLog

Download the checksummed addon release from this site, extract it, and copy the addon folder into your Windower installation:

Windower4/addons/CombatLog

The resulting folder should contain CombatLog.lua directly—not another nested combatlog folder. Verify the ZIP against the SHA-256 from /api/addon/version.

Load the addon

Launch FFXI through Windower and enter this command in the game console:

lua l CombatLog

Add the same line to Windower4/scripts/init.txt if you want it loaded automatically.

Start recording

Start before the activity and optionally provide a useful label:

//clog start Sortie

You can also click the CombatLog HUD. Useful commands include //clog status, //clog label <text>, //clog autorecord sortie, and //clog autorecord sheol.

Stop after the run

//clog stop

CombatLog writes a folder containing exactly manifest.json and events.jsonl.

Upload to xilogs

Click Upload parse, choose the generated run folder, and wait for processing to finish. New uploads remain private until you publish them.

Sign in to xilogs

Sign in with Discord. Your xilogs account will own the profile customization after the claim is verified.

Open your character profile

Go to Players, search for your character and server, then open the profile. The character must already appear in a public parse.

Start the claim

Select Claim this character. xilogs creates a short-lived command that is unique to your account and character.

Verify in Final Fantasy XI

While logged in as that exact character, make sure CombatLog is loaded, then paste the command shown on the profile:

//clog claim <code>

Do not share the code. It expires automatically and can only be used for the selected character.

Return to your profile

Keep the profile page open while it waits for CombatLog. After verification, the profile is marked claimed and you can add an avatar, biography, and links.

Why the bridge is required

Windower keeps CombatLog and GearSwap in separate Lua environments. xilogsgearswap.lua is a narrow local bridge that records GearSwap's final merged weapon-skill intent and direct engaged TP loadouts while CombatLog is recording. Magic and job-ability sets are not recorded.

The bridge does not upload files itself, read or execute your GearSwap source, change equipment, load other job files, or traverse your complete sets table. It reads local inventory data only to resolve augments omitted from GearSwap intent.

Install the bridge

Download both files directly, then place them in the GearSwap libraries folder:

Windower4/addons/GearSwap/libs/xilogsgearswap.lua
Windower4/addons/GearSwap/libs/combatlog_json.lua

Add this line to each job file you want recorded, or to a common include:

include('xilogsgearswap.lua')

Reload GearSwap after installing or updating either file.

Record and upload normally

Start CombatLog and play normally. Matching performed local weapon skills carry their resolved intent, while GearSwap status changes and engaged aftercast directly record TP-set loadouts.

Review parse gear

Open the uploaded parse and expand a recording character in the Gear section. Gear is client-reported intent, not confirmation that every item was accepted by the game server.

Manage discovered profile sets

If you own the matching claimed profile, genuinely new sets are added there privately. Rename, publish, archive, or remove them using the existing profile controls.
